Here are a couple pics right after I got it. 
I wore my gown throughout most of my labor, but took it off when pushing was getting close... I get crazy hot and uncomfortable when labor is almost done and deliver is happening- hence the sports bra.

The gown feels great on, it is made with 100% cotton so it is breathable and super soft. I did wear a sports bra underneath during labor because the slit was a little too open for my taste.
I didn't get an epidural so I can't comment on the slit in the back :) but I loved looking cute while walking the halls to keep contractions going. The only thing that would make it better is a pocket. This day and age everyone is hooked to their phones and it would have been great to be able to throw my phone in the pocket while we walked. The gown also comes with a cute headband to keep your hair out of your face. It doesn't look like much but it actually worked great and stayed in place the whole time!
The nurses had never seen a pretty pushers gown before and all thought it was cute!
Overall it was great to look cute and not have to be in the stuffy hospital gown :)
